Bolster Plate Manufacturing, Repair and Design Services For U.S. Manufacturing Companies

Kiefer Tool & Mold’s turn key machine shop is equipped to handle bolster plates and components of various shapes and sizes. Our large part machining department is outfitted with horizontal boring mills both manual and CNC that machine up to 120” wide x 96” high. Kiefer Tool & Mold’s machine shop is outfitted with two bridge cranes that can handle 26’ under the bridge and up to 30 tons. Our 50+ years of experience have endowed us with the knowledge and exposure to all kinds of different designs and specifications. We also have special tooling and fixtures equipped to handle complex geometries and hold tight tolerances. Whether you are in need of your current bolster plate needing repaired/ reconditioned, retrofitted or designed to create a new product, or a new replacement bolster plate; we can handle it.

Bolster plates are used on presses to attached the dies and die cushions to the moving and stationary portions in the forming area of the press. Bolster plates allow for longer press and die life as they create inter changeable components connections and create rigidity in the structure with a larger surface area of contact. Die plates, bolster plates punch plates and bearing plates are used in the forming, stamping or drawing of a blank material as it creates a product. Materials commonly used to create bolster plates include A36 hot rolled, 1018, 4140, 1045 and 8630 alloy steels.
